Cross Clues is a cooperative word-association game in which players try to fill a grid by connecting pairs of code words with clever one-word clues. Each row and column of the grid is labeled, and a code word is placed at each label. Every space therefore represents a unique combination of two code words. Each player secretly receives a Clue Card showing one space in the grid and must give a single-word clue that relates to both code words at that location. There are no turns: whenever a player has a clue ready, they give it to the group. The other players discuss what the clue could mean and try to identify the corresponding row and column.
